About us

Love Worcester began with a simple longing: What would it look like if our town was known, above all, for love? Not just love as a feeling, but the deep, steady, life-giving love that the Bible calls hesed.

Hesed is a Hebrew word that carries more weight than any single English translation. It means loyal love, mercy, kindness, and covenant faithfulness, all wrapped together. It is the kind of love God shows to His people, never giving up, always seeking our good, committed to restoring life.

This is the vision of Love Worcester: to see our community shaped by hesed. We believe that when love is expressed in faithfulness, mercy, and practical kindness, it creates a culture of hospitality and communal productivity. That means living productive lives, not only in our work and economy, but also spiritually, mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically. (Christian Magna Carta).

Love Worcester is not just an organisation but a movement, a family of neighbours, churches, and friends who want to see Worcester and the Breede Valley flourish. Together we explore how God’s kingdom can take shape in daily life: in homes, schools, farms, businesses, politics, and friendships.

Our dream is that this valley will be a place where faithful love and fruitful living go hand in hand, where God’s hesed is seen not only in words, but in the way we welcome, work, and walk alongside one another.

We invite you to journey with us. Come back often to read our articles, listen to our podcasts, and share in reflections that will encourage you, challenge you, and inspire you to live out God’s faithful love in everyday life. Together, let’s shape a culture of love, hospitality, and productivity in the Breede Valley and beyond.
